He won't. The Dems need to start working on real issues get those ready to go to Biden's desk on the 25th. They're just wasting their own time pontificating over stuff that's already over. I disagree. Trump has been leading an attempted coup. Any step that can be done against him should be done. In...

I thought robinhood (the app/site) was geared towards the stock market, rather than bitcoin? I think the big issue with bitcoin is the same as with the stock market, but magnified: just in the last week, the price of bitcoin went from $29K to $41K and back to $32K (and it's now at $35K) - so short-t...

I'd like to thank everyone for the well wishes and kind words. My son has started my symptoms. So with school starting next, I thought I'd test him. We made an appointment and drove over. The same doc that tested came out for him. She wont test him. Stating with me being positive, he would have to ...

Re: Peace Talks - Jim Butcher

It occurs to me - way too late :-p - that we could have set up a book club to talk about this as we were reading it
(assuming people had been willing to read in sections, rather than all in one sitting).
But I forget now the one incident that had wondering what it would mean, later ...

Re: If this is your mentality - move along

I don't know if this is a game I want to play :-p - I think I only make it to 54% ... I could maybe try to increase my ratio by working on a few of those items - but on #9 I am quite a few years late ... :ymsigh: I thought of asking if there was a version of the list that was weighted by how importa...

Incorrect. The article says nothing about them having tried it on other life forms beyond cells in a culture.

BTW, I am not a life form as you know it. Indeed, no virus from your planet could even possibly pose a threat to me.
That's what the aliens in "War of the Worlds" said ... :-p

Tomorrow my copy of Peace Talks arrives. Leave me alone while I enjoy my Whopper and glazed donut. Wednesday I'm getting the only decent steak sandwich in town and a Revolution beer. I might put a cheese Little Ceasars pizza out on the patio for Toot's friends. And I'll know you're also a fan if yo...

Re: Is TikTok Evil?

Any technology product originating from China is at least somewhat suspect in my opinion. It's a bit of a concern, in that these days _everything_ is made in China ... :-( One of the reasons I prefer iPhones to any of the Android devices is the idea that there is a validation step, before apps are ...

Re: Spambots Arise!

I recently switched from Comcast to MetroNet as my ISP. It now appears that I cannot post unless I use Tor. I am getting a message saying Your IP xx.xxx.xxx.xx has been blocked because it is blacklisted. For details please see http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=xx.xxx.xxx.xx Hmm - I thought that b...

Re: Oxford vaccine trials moving to Phase 3 testing

Ill probably get it IF i can first be tested for the antibodies and i dont have them already I think there's a growing consensus that our antibody response to this falls off between 3-6 months - so you might get a vacccine now, you may get it later ... but chances are you will get it (if you were g...

Re: Oxford vaccine trials moving to Phase 3 testing

How many of you are willing to take the chance on this vaccine? I personally dont want to be thrown in the front line. Forty years ago HIV starting lurking around. Why haven't they found a vaccine yet? They both have similar properties. Could it be societies view on that virus? Also how many of you...

Quite predictably, he was emboldened to be even worse when the Senate failed in its duty to remove him.
No, no - he learned his lesson, remember?

Re: Trumps Secret Police Operating in Portland

Scenes we would expect from China or Russia are now happening here in the U.S. As if we really needed another reason to dump this traitor in November. Sure - but I would submit the rot goes deeper than that.... One would have expected someone down the chain of command would have stood up and said n...

Re: Trump is going batshit crazy

This how the administration will try to make the pandemic look like it is fading away. They'll deliberately under report the numbers. The problem for them is they have so little credibility at this point beyond their base that no one will trust those numbers. But it will likely result in more cases...
