I was a ranked amateur, never aspired to go further. I read all the texts on gambits and such, followed the world class games plays that were printed every week in the paper, but never felt a calling to be a pro. I played for enjoyment, beer, hot dogs, and money.

I hear Canadians are nice Thanks YAG, a tad too far north but I do agree. I worked almost a decade in the training room of a professional hockey team, and 85% of them are Canadian. They were the nicest guys, polite, well-mannered, and they helped me to understand curling (I admit it...I'm hooked!)....
