Hangovers

Anyone have a good concoction for hangovers? Went to a Nelly concert last night, I'm too old to party all night!

The best foolproof way to prevent a hangover...dont drink so much next time. I have found that the older I get the longer the recovery time is.

Switched to Revel Stoke roasted pecan whiskey. It's absolutely delicious! No more hang overs. Other then I wake up kinda tired. And I've been getting pretty boozed up lately.

As is with things, prevention is better than a cure.

Hypersaturate on water or a electrolyte drink before
Load up on B6 and B12.

But abstaining, or restraining yourself, is best.

I learned that the best restraint is to buy the most expensive liquor on hand. You run out of money faster than liquor.

Hydration is key.
Gatorade is ok for the electrolytes, but it isn’t a great hydrator because it is isotonic and leans more to the hypertonic direction. You need something that is hypotonic like G2 or G-zero.
The carbs in regular Gatorade make it harder for the body to take water molecules in to the dehydrated cells (including blood). The lower carbs in their diet varieties will hydrate the cells faster so you get the benefits quicker.
If I’ve been drinking, I’ll down a bottle before bed, and keep some handy to drink during the night or first thing in the morning. Dark sunglasses and Aleve take the edge of as well.

I'm just a shot drinker. Drinking a good quantity of water helps a lot! I probably drink 1 glass of water for every 2 shots. On a heavy drinking night, it would seem I visit the pisser as much as the beer drinkers. LOL

And in actuality. If you consume a lot of alcohol. A hangover of some kind is inevitable. Because your body is recovering from being poisoned.

Revel Stoke is the most delicious whiskey I've ever had. It's only $15 for a 5th here. I indulge in the roasted pecan. There is also vanilla and I believe pumpkin or apple. Which I have not sampled yet.

Southern Comfort and Royal Crown apple would yield next day hang overs. But Revel Stoke isn't. Which in itself isn't good. Because there has not been a penalty for over indulging. LOL

STAY AWAY FROM SUGARY DRINKS. Sugar is EVIL when it comes to alcohol. Wallaby nailed the biochemistry when it comes to humans.

Bourbon - I only have a hangover of ANY kind if I have REALLY overdone and NOT hydrated well first.

Vodka - only drink the good stuff that hasn't been adulterated. It is, by law, only ethanol and water. Yeah, I'm sure based on the flavor you sometimes get in "pure" vodka that's really being enforced. Straight ethanol has no taste that a human can discern. The astringent nature of ethanol makes weird physical sensations, and helps loosen up and spread any food particles stuck in your teeth/gums.

Diluted apple cider vinegar before drinking can be useful. I can't remember where I read about it, but it's helped my hangovers from being too bad. Just a couple ounces is all you need. I believe it has something to do with pH, or something. It's good for gut health too.

Nelly was the name of that b**ch on the tv show Little House on the Prairie, she was always causing problems for the other kids on the show.
P.S. I was not a fan of the show but the females in my house was.

Drink lots of water with the alcohol; best way to avoid the problem in the first place.

I had a good one two weeks ago. My friend got married and we went to the night club. It was a great night. There were Loud music, beutiful girls, free drinks.
