Saw that this had come out, and decided to read it. It's the newest book by the author of "The Martian".
Someone described it as "The Martian" turned up to 11 - not a bad description.
I thought it was pretty fun, and I would say anyone with a science-y bent should enjoy it.
There was one thing I could not buy in the story, though - which makes me recommend it, but not wholeheartedly.

I found several elements to be highly improbable, the final crisis situation downright impossible IF one of those highly improbable elements could be somehow engineered into existence.
Give it a 5. Unlikely I'll read it a second time.

I was lukewarm on this too. It was a lot of fun and Weir has a lot of interesting ideas, but it's clear now that he only has one kind of writing style. Nothing wrong with that, but it does mean that subsequent work won't quite measure up to The Martian. At least he didn't try to write a female main character this time.
