The Don. The Trumper.
He has been knocked down, but he gets up again.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LODkVkpaVQA
He is like Marine n many ways. He has a fairly liberal stance on some issues that no one will ever take the time to learn about. But I don't care, I'm willing to eat a crap sandwich, which he will almost assuredly serve up from time to time to have someone not afraid to fail, and someone who can actually lead. Someone who doesn't much care much like I don't. Which is to say he cares. Kind of. But not really.
Look at the two populist candidates drawing attention and crowds now. One can't be bought, the other is crazy enough to not want to be bought. A correction in the dollar and equities, a downturn in the economy at the correct moment. A perfect storm.
We get Padrino Don. You're fired IRS. Evil scum that they are.

I disagree with the conclusion that these comments disqualify the Don from being POTUS.

I like the Don, but then I like anyone who has the balls to speak truth to power.
I am a bit worried though. I don't think he's electable, and if he runs as an independent, Hillary will be our next President.
Remember Ross Perot.....he cost Bush I his second term.

Lots of time for things to play out. May as well have The Don along for the ride. He'll liven it up. He warms my heart every time he calls Obama stupid, and/or drops an f bomb.

This would be a disaster if the election were held today. Bush -v- Clinton is close. Two liberals running against each other. Trump -v- Clinton is a blow out.
The only thing good I can see coming out of the most recent polling if it were to stay this way, is that I think The Don would lose his temper and call Hillary a f...ing b...itch.
FWIW, I think Trump would destroy Clinton in a debate setting. The Don calling her names would be in some far off interview somewhere not even germane to the election.

I have three Trump hats being shipped tomorrow. Different colors. I'm going to wear these, either unshaven and in shorts, or possibly cleaned up with a sport coat, to selected events for the greatest impact. For example, the next time the Democratic women are having tea at the country club I think would be an appropriate time for me to show up in a color coordinated Trump hat. And also when I sit in the U of I President's box at that one game I have to do that. They're all very educated, they should pick up what I'm laying down I think? Yes?
Yes. I'm serious. Seriously laffy also.

I think that Trump is striking the "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more!" thread.
He has done great things in business, but has done so because He IS his Corporation. He can demand that things be done his way or "You're Fired!" He's not going to have that capability as President. (yes --yes--I know that Obama does, but that is what we are trying to end)

True, but it's a really, really cool trucker hat, and I think it sends a not so subtle nonverbal message in many appropriate settings. Such as in front of university presidents.

Have to disagree ... Christie needs the Elvis jumpsuit.MWDude wrote:Just when I thought the length of this election cycle was going to be absurdly long, we get the Vegas entertainer Donald Trump. Laffy.

I get to meet with the Don again tomorrow. Privately before he makes his public appearance at the football game's various tailgate parties.
So I got the call from his IOwa guy earlier today, which I somewhat expected. I'm on the telephone and I let them know I'm not going to do any public meeting at the football game, because I'm there for the football game. They say come on over to the hotel before the game. I say o.k. Conversation turns to some things I've agreed to do for them with respect to some numbers he needs. I tell the guy Trump is supporting the wrong team tomorrow. Usual chit chat. The guy asks is there anything we can do for you. I reply, yes, the Trump trucker hat doesn't fir very well, and it's supposed to be one size fits all.
Then it happens. I hear the Don in the background. He speaks loudly enough so I can hear, "Tell him that's the hat he's gonna git." Guy says, did you hear that? I reply, yeah, I heard it. Look forward to seeing you guys again tomorrow. I don't ask for much, but I'm going to look for a more golf style Trump hat.
End of story

Not everybody starting with only 200M and 4 Mulligans would wind up rich! Of course some say he has under-performed the S&P 500.
Me? I'd probably have only 100M and a big smile left to show for it. Of course I might not have needed the Mulligans.

I saw this Wally. He says he has changed his position. Which makes him different than everyone else currently running how? Hillary is running so far left of her norm due to Bernie this is also laughable.
That, and some of never deluded ourselves he was an Edmund Burke conservative. It's driving the National Review crazy. It's driving the liberals crazy. And it's simple. It's not about ideology, it's more about a social movement, and giving all things government a big middle finger.
But yes, the attacks against the Trump have been ramped up by both the far left and right. And it will continue. Largely predictable.

I'm going to vote for whichever candidate declares they will eliminate the alleged job-creation subsidies for large businesses until those large businesses show they are actually creating living-wage jobs.
There's a few hundred billion off the deficit in a few weeks right there.
Right now I'm leaning toward Sanders, because a LOT of what he's saying sounds a LOT like Dwight Eisenhower. And if we could have a decade or two like the 1950s and 1960s when it comes to job creation, technological innovation, and social changes that actually made a difference - I'm not seeing the problem.
Trump - I do enjoy his "FU" approach to the process. But we don't need more cronyism.
I already know how I'm voting for Congress - against the incumbents. No matter who is running against them.

We have term limits for Presidents. We need term limits for congress as well. Politics should not be a career, it should be a term of public service where you bring the professional skill from your "real life" and values from your constituents communities to DC for the duration of your term in office. This would also mean re districting to remove the gerrymandering that dominates the district maps.Publisher wrote:I already know how I'm voting for Congress - against the incumbents. I suspect Bernie will shake things up domestically, but he is weak internationally so will need a strong cabinet to bolster that side of things.

Yesterday's demonstration by both mainstream Democrats and Republicans in Iowa, all active either at a debate, or at an event, validated that a vote for The Don is not a wasted vote, but sends a loud message that is still for some reason misunderstood by those that presently "serve" the taxpayers and citizens.
A factory worker with a high school education in the rust belt is not a guaranteed Democratic voting block. Unfortunate that they are taken for granted by the Democrats. They are good people They work, they follow laws and they pay taxes. They vote Republican when given a compelling reason. In my opinion, they have more in common with Republicans, as do minorities. A failure of the Republican party, and their message on both fronts.
I had predicted long before Trump even announced that his potential candidacy could take off, and I'll predict if it goes forward, he will carry rust belt Democrats.

The Edmund Burke argument. Oh my God, what about the Federalist Papers? Laffy at that BS.
People, people, people, have you figure it out yet? It is a social movement, based not on doctrine, but on one finger protruding straight upwards at the establishment on both sides.
It has swept up so many little people who have never been in a position to say FU, or NO.
History forgets quickly, as do most people. The 90 if you will. But it will be a long while before donors pony up close to $200MM before one single poll or debate.
Two sides of the same coin. Hope and Change. With no details. Make America Great Again. With few details.
The quicker one sees it for what it is, the better one's chances at profiting from it are.

Mitch McConnell
Luke Russert reports that Mitch McConnell will walk away from Trump if he becomes the nominee, even before the election. Even if it concedes the election to the dems.
This guy should follow Reid out the door? Is there anybody on the planet he will work with? Who does he think he is?
Congress has spoken of lawsuit vs the executive. What about the public suing Congress?
The Constitution states the House and Senate make their own rules, but it also is specific on what takes 3/5ths or 2/3rds votes. Let the courts sort it out? And one man (the Speaker) deciding what gets voted on in the House bugs me too.
Thank you for the venting opportunity

Common man. Populist. No collars. No private club. Choice, not prime. Strip club in Central Illinois, not NY Strip Kobe at Bass St in Moline. Too far to travel, too much gas.
Winning.
Winning.

I was dismissive of Trump's speaking style until I watched this:

More interesting news is on the email thread. I haven't updated, and I probably won't, but I like to keep up on just how unethical the Don's opponent really is.
Can he win? Yes. Is it likely? Not so much. But personally, I wouldn't count him out. But I'd not take a straight up bet on this either.
Haven't heard form you in a while. What's new with me? Shaving. No golf really, but I'm leaving tomorrow to go fishing on Lake Michigan. I'll probably miss some strip club outing, but I need to sacrifice I guess. I still eat steak, pizza, even Tombstone pizza on occasion. I pary. I believe in a higher power. I pray for those I don't care for. So for example, I pray for AC and RT. Larissa and Cody also. But I'm imperfect. I pray for them partially becuase I know if they knew I prayed for them it would piss them off. But mostly I pray for them for the right reasons. Hatred is such a wasted emotion.. In other words, hatred doesn't make any money, so why hate?
Thanks for asking.

Sorry Pubs, but not biting my tongue this time
Hello dearest resident troll,
Tsk,tsk and I was trying so hard to remain lady like......but since you feel the need to poke the bear.......
It’s about time you graduated from incoherent, irrelevant babbling. Bravo!
I could care less what you waste your time doing. If it makes you feel better, go for it! Please don't flatter yourself thinking you have any relevant real estate in my life, thoughts, or actions.
Oh and by the way, I don't hate you (clarifying that for the people who are relevant and were asking). I just find you irrelevant and very boring; which is the consensus of any of the ladies here that have had the unfortunate task of spending time with you in person. It must be really bad if you can't even get the ones that you have to pay to give you the time of day.
Even sadder, I actually enjoyed this thread. Too bad, just when I thought you were actually evolving.
Take care dear troll and keep praying. You need all the help you can get. Muah!

This is getting interesting, not necessarily this thread, but the election. It's not begun yet, but it will shortly.
Having said this, we are beginning to witness the largest partisan media attack in our lifetimes.
It could almost be an academic study, although it never will be as academia and the press seem to both selective decide what they feel is worthy of their attention.
Now it would have been difficult for any Republican to every win, and still is, but we do have some wild cards this year. An ISIS attack on American soil is a game changer, and so are mass resignations from the IC and FBI.
If you asked me the likelihood of an indictment, my response has always been under 50%. But it is now closer to 50% than it was before, although still extremely unlikely.
But I think you're going to see some serious leakage, and potential mass resignations before this is over.
To recognize history while it is being made is critical, as opposed to only understanding you lived through it after the fact. I've always found awareness to be good.
I'm calling it again, this is going to be one of the most historic events in most of our lives with respect to American elective politics.
We are witnessing a complete meltdown of Republican establishment power broker politics, and I suspect the the Democratic party is not as far away from this as most currently think either.
Does anything change? In a micro sense yes, but I speculate not in a macro sense. The will of the American people to react is only motivated by necessity based on over 200 years of history, so probably not.

I've been praying and contemplating quite a lot lately. What if I worked for cash, and maybe banked a modest $125K annually? What would I pay in federal income taxes under Hillary?
Now, I'm honest, so I report everything, but I'm still left wondering why pass through income taxed at a personal ordinary income tax rate as high as 39.6%, given smaller businesses are actually job creators, is taxed at a higher level than let's say Bank of America. Or someone working for cash.
We must not be blinded by primal instinct, we must always speak and fight for truth. Even when it is unpopular. Which is likely why the current populist movement has traction. And is also the underlying thing many young men died for.
I'm all about fairness and trust. And self discipline to not put myself in jeopardy.
So say what you will, becuase some already have (inaccurately), but this thing will eventually fall apart. Unless history does in fact not repeat itself. Which I find highly doubtful.
And always remember, if you take an interest in things that aren't really your business, please consider your sources carefully.
Si I will shortly get on an aeroplane, with an envelope, to deliver to Ernesto. I'll enjoy a very relaxing straight blade shave, and we will talk about how to bet on the boxing, and the old days, where things could be solved so much easier than today.
College football and winter are coming. Requiring long drives through desolate and barren lands east of where I mostly reside. I'd never take a convertible ride through dallas as an example. And I do pay for my own vacations.

Not scared way. Reasonable people would use examples such as we've had to further prove their point, without any effort.

I was going to sit this election out, but Hillary's "deplorables" comment clinched it. I'm pulling the lever for Don with no hesitation.
The Democrat playbook is as old as it is dishonest. And Hill said what so many liberals think: if you disagree with me, then something is wrong with you. I just love liberal "tolerance".

Re: The Don. The Trumper.
Words. Bad words certainly. Trump (pun intended) rape allegations (plural) never investigated I guess. Ah well.
The funny thing is what Wikileaks released has me very comfortable with Hillary. I'll survive, and likely thrive. She's a globalist, and I like her "private position" as opposed to her "public position" with respect to wealth. There will be regulation, and I'll be in the minority (no change) but she is obviously fine with tax loopholes, so I'll just reposition.
The middle class? They're going to get what they vote for, and deserve. And they're going to pay cold hard cash. She doesn't like people like me, but she has made arrangements for her friends, and I'll just financially copy her friends. Legally, like the Trumpster likes to say. It's a bad deal for a lot of the rest of you though. And I think that's unfair, but I can't save everyone.
Good luck. Have fun. No Republican really ever had a chance anyway did they? In a world where debate moderators interrupt their least favorite candidate, and start debating them, and they let the other side drone on, uninterrupted. Trump would have been assinated with 3 years anyway. The Republic was lost a long time ago.
And Brexit just crushed the British economy too. And people still buy the talking points and the lies. Even in the face of hard evidence.

Re: Random Blurt
Foreign conspiracy to intervene in an American election. CNN doing critical reporting about this. Hillary, and all of her aides say Russians as well. Both patriots doing God's work.
Do not read the Wikileaks about this issue. It will burn your retinas. Please listen to CNN, they will read Wikileak for you, and let you know what you should be thinking.
I'm personally unclear who is compromised by Russians, Second Time, or Meter Man. Or even others. Fortunately DIRECTV allows me to watch CNN 24/7, so someone else can think for me, and let me know what to do.
It is scary. God Bless CNN for protecting me.
