It seems you have to specifically opt into this update though...so unless you do that, it won't automatically just be installed.

I believe Nikkey is correct.

Anyway, my Bluetooth is usually off except when at specific construction sites and we're doing remote control of construction equip.
Besides there's usually enough wireless around.

Last, no one should let auto-updates occur. Just a personal preference, and I think a security preventive.

Exactly. Some people will mindlessly click ok and thats what should NOT happen.

This thing uses Bluretooth "pings" to other Bluetooth devices. I know in my case, I have at least 6 Bluetooth devices in my home, 5 of which are connected to WiFi pretty much any time I'm awake.

I'll be more comfortable (but not enough to install this on my phone) if a countermeasure blocking WiFi access for this data.

Ah, OK. I use Bluetooth so very seldom (like, maybe once a month in my car), so not an issue with me.
