My first 5k Tomorrow
My first 5k Tomorrow
So I’m super pumped about participating in my first 5k in DC. I know it’s nothing to the expert runners, but it’s exciting to me.
I was motivated by a long time client/friend. Its amazing how this person was encouraging over the past few years and inspiring. Shout out to the great hobbyists.

Hey, that's awesome Tyra. Aside from anything else, you're participating, and that's great!
I wish I could say the same. I'd need a team of EMT's, oxygen tanks, an AED, and probably a cardiovascular surgeon if I tried one of those.
Maybe someday I'll do one. Please let us know how it goes!
Good luck!!

Good luck! I'm with Karma, it wouldn't be pretty.

Well the virtual support helps a lot! I’ll just use my imagination when it comes to the massage. Let’s just hope the sports bra I bought, which by the why is a few sizes too small, holds up.

Good luck - I'm sure you'll do fine. I know I can complete a 5k. I'm just not going to say how long it would take me to do it.

Too small I doubt it will hold up! No pun intended!

Re: My first 5k Tomorrow
I hope you enjoyed your first 5k. It is not about the time or place you finish but the enjoyment and satisfaction it gives you hopefully.
I have ran hundreds of road races in my life but it has been a few years now. I really want to get back into running shape then when you visit the Midwest sometime we can run one together.
I don't think anyone would mind seeing a picture of you in that sports bra either....

Anyone hear from Tyra?
Did she pass the finish line and keep running... a la Forest Gump? Maybe she is heading to me.
Hope all went well

Re: My first 5k Tomorrow
Hey everyone
I’m laughing at the Forrest Gump line!! I was actually sleeping yesterday. I came down with a cold after the race.
I Completed the race and Through the finish line at around 45 Mins. I did more of a walk. I had my son in a stroller, which gave me even more motivation.
I felt excited about actually being out there and trying. I will say that next time, I intend on doing more preparation. I.E. Stretching, walking, etc.
Now I’m waiting for those promised massages!!

It didn’t take too long for me. I’m sure you’d be able to complete it. It’s the aftermath that’s crucial.
