Track writes "CHICAGO Illinois -- Lane Tech teacher cleared in prostitution case
Charges were dropped against a Lane Tech computer teacher arrested last month for allegedly keeping a place of prostitution.
Scott Carlson, 41, a teacher at the Chicago public school since 2002, was cleared Tuesday for renting a hotel room near Midway Airport that became the scene of an undercover prostitution sting, officials said.
The arrest Dec. 10 happened when a sheriff's undercover officer who responded to an ''escort'' ad on a social networking site agreed to meet a 21-year-old woman, officials said.
Once in the room, the woman allegedly offered to have sex with the undercover officer for money and was arrested for prostitution. A receipt for the room showed it was rented to and paid for by Carlson, 2300 block of West Thomas, who was arrested in the hotel parking lot, where he had been waiting for the woman, officials said.
